Memorial day 2008!

Our ward had a 5K run bright and early monday morning. The 5k was 3 times around a very hilly track. The boys and I made it around once (me pushing Lexi in the Jogger). Kev ran the full three loops. We were all pretty tuckered out but we got krispy kream dounuts and oranges after so it was worth it! Then they had a ballon toss for the kids and ultimate frisby. The kids had a blast! I couldn't find my camera so I stole this off a friends blog! Thanks Angela!

Anyone who has ever seen me eat corn knows that I don't exactly eat it like everyone else. Two kernels at a time. I started this when I had braces and it has kind of stuck with me. My family loves to give me a hard time about this but no one more than my brother in law. Since they are not around I thought I would send these.

HERE'S FOR YOU ANDY!!!

Just Horsin around!

Sunday was a nice day so we went for a drive to see our new baby horse. He is two weeks old now and really cute. He is kind of feisty little thing but has really cute personality. The kids loved being able to pet him and run around the farm.
The babies waited very patiently while Kevin, Shelby and I tried to catch the baby. We wanted to put a halter on him so it would be easier to catch him. He is already really strong and fast! We were finally successful but it took all three of us.
Tyler playing around with the goat. If you get to close he will headbutt you. Tyler found out the hard way right up against the fence!

Even Mia and Mason liked the baby horse.

This is our two year old from the same mom. We are still not sure what color he is but he has a lot of hair! his is Tatiana the mom.

Kevin just doing what he does!

Lexi really loved the baby.

Already Hooked!

Tyler dished up some ice cream the other night and dropped the lid on the floor. Before I realized it Mia had found it and was enjoying herself. Just had to share this little video with all of you.

She'll be coming on the airplane when she comes!!

A VISIT FROM GRAMMY
We were so excited to have Grammy come and visit. As I knew it would the week went by way to fast but we fit a lot in and had a great time. Thank Heaven for grandmas.
I requested some fresh tortillas from COSTCO so my dad wrapped them in foil to keep them cold. Not the best thing to use on an airplane I guess. They had to open the bag to figure out what in the world what showing up on their z-ray. Then they sent it to the wrong plane. By the time they figured out where it was suppose to go it had missed my moms plane. No harm done. They delivered it about 12:30 am and the tortillas were so worth it(for me anyway).
FRIDAY
We surprised the kids and took them out of school early to take them to Kings Island. We got the family season passes for Christmas so we decided while I had some help herding the kids around the park we would go for the day. We had a blast riding all the roller coasters and other rides. The Babies were absolutely amazing. People always stop to look when they see twins and I think grandma enjoyed showing them off.
At the end of the day we were all tuckered out. I think mom and I could have slept for three days. It was really fun sharing these memories with grandma though.
SATURDAY
Some good friends of ours gave us tickets to the circus. Again we made mom tag along.
Lions
And Tigers
And Bears

Oh My!!!

SUNDAY

Happy Mothers Day!

Thursday morning my mom and I both received flowers that Kevin had delivered. They were absolutely gorgeous. Then Sunday morning he got up at 5:30 to make us both breakfast in bed before he had to go to work and we had to go to church. When we got home he cleaned the house and took care of the kids while mom and I both took a nap. Then he made us dinner and got all the kids into bed. I have the best Husband!! He was not feeling good but still spoiled me on mothers day. Two days later he found out he had strep. Talk about feeling guilty! Thanks for a great Day Sweetie!

Every year since we were really little Dawna would make mom a crown for mothers day. That tradition continues today and so here is mom wearing her crown.

Kevin taking care of babies on mothers day.

TUESDAY

Grammy rocking both babies. Take it from me, that's a real talent!

She even managed to get one of them to sleep! Way to go Grammy!

WEDNESDAY

There were lots of sad tears at the airport but we wouldn't trade the week for anything. We are so grateful that she came and that Papa let her come. Thanks for all your help. We love you both and miss you the most. Can't wait to see you again.

destruction!!!!!

What is it with boys and destroying things!!
What started as a repair job ended as a demolition job. By the end everyone had a wrench or screwdriver and was helping dad take apart the play fort. Even little Lexi was lending a hand I know!! You are all wondering what in the world they are doing in their swimming suits in April. Well, one of my kids favorite things to do is play in the sprinkler on the tramp. We had a really nice day so they were bugging us to let them. Despite our efforts to convince them that it was not THAT warm and that the water would be freezing they insisted they knew better. Sometime as parents you have to let your children learn the hard way. So we gave in and sure enough we were right. Shocker!! They lasted about 30 seconds in the water but had a fun time playing in their swimming suits anyway. Just a little taste of what's to come - Summer!! We can't wait.

The first corn on the cob of the year!

Yum! Nothing says summer more than fresh corn on the cob and and a big slice of watermelon.
